Eh muter-muter mikir jauh, entah knapa Selasa pagi waktu dapet kabar Mbah Surip meninggal, gw merasa taw-taw dikasi jawaban atas pertanyaan ngelantur yang gw bikin itu.

Orang yang akan selalu dikenang karena kesederhanaannya, dandanan-nya yang eksentrik, dan juga lirik dan irama lagunya yang bner-bner nyantol di kuping. Blom lage ketawanya yang jadi trademarknya. Perjalanannya mencapai sukses tentu dapat kita ambil hikmahnya. Bertahun-tahun ia mengembara di jalanan dengan tekun dan sabar. Namun sayangnya saat baru saja ia mencapai kesuksesannya, Mbah Surip seakan-akan terlalu cepat sudah dipanggil sama yang di atas.
Lucunya juga Sabtu kmaren pas gw liburan weekend ke Bandung, gw smpet ke Stone Cafe untuk dinner. Trus ada live music gethu, eh pas gw sekeluarga lewat orangnya nanya maw request lagu apa.
Entah apa yang menyambar otak gw saat itu, tiba-tiba gw spontan ngomong, “TAK GENDONG!!”.. Eh dia ketawa-ketawa bntar abis itu dinyanyiin loh. Cukup kontras memang dengan lagu-lagu sebelumnya di mana ia nyanyiin I’m Yours ama lagu-lagu jazz gethu lah.
Setelah beres ber-reggae ria, dia ngomong-ngomong ke pengunjung yang dateng.
“Haduwh minta lagu koq Tak Gendong. Yang berkelas donk! Nieh kita nyanyiin lagu yang lebih berkelas yah!”
